Advocate Health Collaboration and Community Support Agreement

Date:       March 1, 2019

Subject: Advocate Health Midwifery and Obstetrical Collaboration and Community Support Agreement

We are very pleased to announce that Community First Medical Center and Advocate Health (“Advocate”) have formally entered into a Midwifery and Obstetrical Service Line Collaboration and Community Support Agreement, effective as of March 1, 2019, to expand midwifery and obstetrical services at Community First Medical Center.  This marks the formal return of midwifery and obstetrical services to the Community First Medical Center campus since Presence Health (the former owner of Community First Medical Center) discontinued the obstetrical category of service more than a decade ago.

Under the terms of the Midwifery and Obstetrical Service Line Collaboration and Community Support Agreement, Advocate will place Advocate Medical Group and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center staff at Community First Medical Center (on the second floor of the hospital in the Community First Medical Center Clinics) and provide pre-natal care to expectant mothers in the community. Should these expectant mothers decide to deliver their newborns at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, continuity of care will be enhanced; as will the health of the mothers and newborns.

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center is a designated Baby Friendly hospital and offers the highest level of pre- and post-natal care to its patients and has state of the art birthing suites.

Stay tuned as we continue to expand services at Community First Medical Center and clinically affiliate with the best health systems in Chicago and deliver “best in breed” care to our patients closer to home.
